Chef Michael McCombe’s career as a chef & instructor has brought him full circle. After attending Middle Bucks Institute of Technology as a high school student, he has spent the past twenty- seven years as the instructor. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York. Chef McCombe possesses over forty years occupational experience in the hospitality industry, working in both management and chef positions at various prestigious resort hotels, restaurants, country clubs, catering establishments, and food service companies. He is a member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Philadelphia Chapter, an ACF Certified Executive Chef (CEC) and a Certified Culinary Educator (CCE).
Chef McCombe has served as President of the ACF Philadelphia Chapter and has been recognized as the ACF-Philadelphia Chapter Professional of the Year 2012, Educator of the Year 2013 and is a recipient of the ACF Cutting Edge Award.
He was recognized for his efforts by President Bush for organizing relief efforts in Biloxi, Mississippi the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
He served on First Lady Michelle Obamas “Chefs Move to Schools” initiative.
Chef McCombe was inducted into the American Academy of Chefs in Las Vegas Nevada in 2013 and was awarded the Philadelphia ACF Chef of the year for 2018.
